"Yosemite Tourist", Plein Air demo painting from August 11, 2016. We were late so I rushed the demo painting. They timed me, 15 minutes is all it took. 22x15" watercolor on Arches paper. Accepted NCA's Bold Expressions, October 6-29, 2016, Sacramento Fine Atts Center. "Manzanar Auditorium", 22x15" watercolor and charcoal depicting the old high school auditorium, the only remaining building of the World War II internment camp in the eastern Sierras. This work has SOLD. The artist participated and helped organze group exhibit at Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento auditorium in August. Artists David Peterson, Woody Hansen and Rebecca Jaggers will depicted scenes from Manzanar, a Japanese relocation camp during WWII. These three watercolor artist have all taken Fukuhara workshop classes in Manzanar. Henry Fukuhara an American born of Japanese immigrant parents was interned at Manzanar. Later in his life because a prolific watercolor artist. Thank you for supporing this special art exhibit. The artist will be in Yosemite teaching classes at Yosemite Art Center August 8-13, 2016.
